Configure AutoMod and logs

Set up automatic protections and readable logs without replacing human judgment.

Goal

AutoMod helps the team detect or limit certain repetitive behaviors. It complements human moderation without deciding complex situations on its own.

Prepare the channels

Choose a logging channel reserved for the team and verify that Luméo can post there. Avoid mixing security alerts with the server's public discussions.

Configure progressively

  • enable one protection at a time;
  • start with cautious thresholds;
  • test behavior with authorized accounts;
  • verify any required exceptions;
  • review the logs before making rules stricter.

Read the logs

A useful log should identify the event, the member involved, the rule that triggered, and the action taken. It does not replace a moderator's review of the context.

False positives

When a rule blocks legitimate behavior, correct its configuration before adding overly broad exceptions. A global exception can disable a protection across a large part of the server.

Regular review

After changing channels, roles, or permissions, verify that logs still work and that only authorized members can view them.
