Use reading assistance

Set a reading time from 30 seconds to 5 minutes without justification and understand how it applies in Solo or community games.

Goal

Reading assistance increases the time available to read a question and its four answers. No personal or medical justification is required.

Available durations

The timer can be set to:

  • 30 seconds;
  • 45 seconds;
  • 1 minute;
  • 1 minute 30 seconds;
  • 2 minutes;
  • 3 minutes;
  • 5 minutes.

Account-linked preference

The personal setting is linked to the Discord account. It therefore follows the player across servers where Luméo offers Quiz.

The duration is locked when a game starts. Changing it during a question does not alter the session already in progress.

Solo use

In Solo, the selected personal timer is used for every question. Countdown is handled by the server and displayed in minutes and seconds.

Community use

A community game uses a shared timer selected by the organizer so all players answer under the same conditions.

Before joining, check the announced duration. Your personal Solo setting does not silently replace the shared community timer.

Best practices for organizers

Choose a duration suited to the expected audience and announce the rule clearly before starting. Making a game more accessible does not require lowering its difficulty: reading time and question difficulty are independent settings.
