Understand spawns and catches

React to a spawn, choose between catching and battling, then verify that the result was saved to the correct save.

Pokémon spawn

Spawns are posted in the channel configured for the server. Depending on the settings, Luméo can notify members by direct message; if DMs are closed, a fallback message can be posted in the channel.

Before acting

Check the Pokémon's generation, the active mode, and the state of your team. A spawn belongs to the server where it was created and cannot be claimed from another community.

Catching

A catch uses the items and rules of the active save. Luméo checks, among other things, that the required item is available, that the mode allows the action, and what the actual result of the attempt is.

Simply seeing a spawn does not automatically add the Pokémon to the Pokédex as obtained. The catch must be confirmed through the final result message.

Battling

When battle is available, HP, status conditions, moves, and rewards are recorded in the corresponding progression. Avoid repeating an action if Discord reports a delay but the bot eventually responds.

After the catch

Check /team, /box, and /pokedex. If the team is full, the Pokémon should be sent to the appropriate Box. If its generation has just been disabled, check the Reserve.
